Second Chance Help Center
is a 501(c) (3) Local Grass Root Community based organization, which started in 1999. That works in partnership with the community to provide rental housing, homeownership, and rehabilitation to homeless and low-income individuals and families residing in Jacksonville. Second Chance Help Center, Inc. record and achievement started in the winter of 1999, when some of the local residents in the northwest quadrant of Jacksonville, Florida got together to discuss how they would save their neighborhood. From that meeting a community-based organization (CBO) in Duval County called Second Chance Help Center, Inc. was developed. Second Chance is the first state certified (CBO) in Duval County. The organization's main focus is on its blighted areas of the northwest side of the city.
